Introduction
This guide focuses on resources in exercise physiology, sports medicine, and physical rehabilitation. Sports medicine is a rapidly growing specialty within medicine. Initially concerned with prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries suffered by athletes, it has grown to encompass all areas of the health sciences concerned with assisting people to obtain and maintain optimal athletic performance as well as general physical fitness.

Finding articles
The majority of journals in these areas are assigned the call numbers: GV 201-1199 for physical fitness and sports, and RC 120-1235 for sports medicine. Journals published 1986 and later are found on the 1st Floor of Love Library; those published 1985 and earlier are found on the 5th Floor.
