Basic Library Resources for Electrical Engineering
To find books, theses and serial publications, use the web version of the PAC
library catalog and conduct a search for author, title or subject. For the correct subject heading consult the Library of Congress Subject Headings (located near the Science Reference Desk) or a science librarian. Some important subject headings are ANTENNAS (ELECTRONICS), ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, MAGNETIC DEVICES, FIBER OPTICS, SIGNAL THEORY (TELECOMMUNICATIONS), LASERS, etc.
If a copy of the Library of Congress Subject Headings is unavailable then try the following technique. First search your term(s) using the WORD command on the PAC. When you retrieve a title that looks reasonable, display the full record and look at its subject headings. You can then search for additional books with those subjects heading by using the S command (SHOW similar items).
Theses from SDSU may be found by looking under the subject heading SDSU THESIS-ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING.
