Archaeological Institute of America's Site Preservation Grant Program, - the AIA will now share the responsibility for safeguarding the world’s archaeological heritage by supporting the conservation of ancient monuments and the preparation of management plans for long-term maintenance of the cultural and physical landscapes of sites. Applications will be considered on a semiannual basis by a committee appointed by the AIA. The deadlines are October 1 and April 1, and grants will normally be awarded in the range of $25K-$75K. SciELO Latin American Social Sciences Journals English Edition - The Edelstein Center in partnerships with SciELO and with the support of the Open Society Institute (OSI) has created a site containing the principal social science journals of Latin America translated into English. Click on a coordinate file for the lower left corner of a cell (example: S16W070.hgt.zip for Lake Titicaca) and save to your desktop. To extract these zipped .hgt files, you can use WinZip: when file icon appears on desktop, right click and chose Unzip-in-Place.
Go to 3DEM website and download their program. Save to your 'Program Files'. You have to run 3DEM's setup.exe file. Then open 3DEM, pull down File menu and choose 'Load Terrain Model' and then OK 'SRTM data'. Click on the unzipped file to open.
