GIS Data
See also: Map Collection
This page provides a brief listing of data available in the SDSU library that can be used with various Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. Statistical data (e.g. Census data) that is not specifically formatted for use with GIS is not included here. This data was produced by the U.S. government and came to the library through the Federal Depository Library Program. The data varies in terms of format and software requirements, but most are designed for use with ArcView or ARC/INFO. This data is available on either CD or DVD and can be checked out to users with valid SDSU ID. The library provides basic GIS software by appointment. See the GIS Software web page or contact the Map Librarian if you have any questions.
CD's and DVD's owned by the library are included in the library catalog, the PAC. All CD's and DVD's listed here are available from the Reference Services Division (1st floor, Library Addition).
