The series is arranged alphabetically by name of field jurisdiction (superintendency or agency) or other subject headings, then by year, registry order and date of receipt. Library has reels nos.75-76,80 covering part of the Cherokee Agency East, 1832-1836.

The administrations of Secretary William Eustis (1809-1812), John Armstrong (1813-1814) and James Monroe (1814-1815) are covered as well as part of William H. Crawford's administration (1815-1817). A native Yavapai Indian, Carlos Montezuma was raised in a urban white society. He was a prominent medical physician and a crusader of Native American rights. This set of over 12,000 pages provides researchers with materials relating to the history and struggles of Native Americans from the 1890s through the 1920s.
