Film Criticism

For more scholarly or academic criticism, film criticism books can help. There are some books about a single film but there is also extensive information in books about the director, stars, films of an era, or films in a particular genre. Use the PAC to find these, looking under the film title, the director or other key players as subjects. Also use Motion Pictures with various subdivisions such as History, names of nations, etc. and specific genres (film noir, western films, science fiction films, etc).

For assistance in what the proper terms to use are, ask a librarian.
