CHEMINFO Main Page
The purpose of this web site is to provide students with automated reference access to selected resources in the discipline of chemistry. CHEMINFO is a reference advisory module capable of answering a limited number of frequently asked questions. It lists appropriate reference tools to find the information. Reference resources include indexes, databases, atlases, handbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias, monographs, core journals and directories.
All suggested material is in the SDSU University Library.
CHEMINFO was originally published as ChemRAS, an expert system, programmed in Prolog by Robert Carande, Science Reference Librarian at SDSU. It is available through anonymous ftp on the Internet (ftp://rohan.sdsu.edu; login: anonymous; cd pub/chemras; binary; mget *.*). The first web version was created by Nathan Torkington, New Zealand, and CHEMINFO was converted into Winhelp by A. Kraska, Marburg, Germany.
