About the Hotel Del Coronado Collection
Dining at the Del is a collection of documents related to dining at the Hotel del Coronado in its earliest days from the 1880s to 1904. The collection contains items such as correspondence from the hotel's manager, logs of groceries purchased, and records of food and drinks charged to guests' rooms.
The goal of this project has been to digitally preserve and showcase a portion of the university's larger Hotel del Coronado archival collection. It was created in the summer of 2009 as an internship project by Aisha Salmi, a graduate student at SJSU's School of Library and Information Science.
The full Hotel del Coronado collection is housed and may be consulted in the Special Collections department of SDSU Library and Information Access.
