Friends of the SDSU Library Current Use Funds
Friends of the Library: |
Our success in the future depends, in part, on our ability to continue purchasing
the materials needed on a daily basis to support the curriculum and research needs of
our students and faculty. The Library will need to maintain and keep up-to-date book
and journal collections for years to come. To accomplish this, we are heavily dependent
upon private gifts from individuals who feel a commitment to supporting the information
needs of our students and faculty.
- Library Development Fund (use where needed most): Unrestricted gifts allow the dean to direct additional support to any library collection or service in need of resources. This fund enables us to take advantage of opportunities as they arise that would otherwise be missed. Examples could include support of guest lecturers, equipment purchases, and expanded access to online information.
- New Technology Fund: This fund will support the investigation and deployment of new technologies (including, but not limited to, hardware and software) to assure that the SDSU Library provides critical, cutting-edge service to the campus. This fund will make it possible for the Library to take advantage of opportunities to keep pace with technological innovations, as they become available.
- Library Materials Fund: Gifts in support of a specific discipline are deposited into this fund for use by our collection specialists. This money is used to expand and enhance our resources in the area specified by the donor.
- Special Collections Fund: Use of the money in this fund is restricted to the purchase of rare and unusual materials for Special Collections. These items are selected by the Special Collections Librarian in consultation with the Friends of the Library Board.
- Arts & Letters Book Endowment Fund: This fund is modeled after the Materials Endowment Fund, and restricted to the purchase of materials in support of the curriculum and research needs of the students and faculty in the College of Arts & Letters.
- Engineering Book Endowment Fund: This fund is modeled after the Materials Endowment Fund, and restricted to the purchase of materials in support of the curriculum and research needs of the students and faculty in the College of Engineering.
- Science Book Endowment Fund: This fund is modeled after the Materials Endowment Fund, and restricted to the purchase of materials in support of the curriculum and research needs of the students and faculty in the College of Sciences.
With your help, we can meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. To make a contribution to any of the above funds please use our Online Donation Form.
