The Friends of the SDSU Library
Donor Honor Wall
In recognition of our most generous Friends, we have installed a lovely donor honor
wall in the "zig-zag" corridor connecting the new Library Addition with the Malcolm A.
Love Library building. On this wall we have listed, in carved polished crystal, all donors who have
contributed a cumulative total of $10,000 or more to the SDSU Library. This list is
accompanied by inspirational quotations and an appreciation statement to honor and
highlight the donors who have contributed so significantly to the success of the
Library's vision. Donor's names are inscribed on individual, diamond-shaped pieces
of crystal, mounted on the wall under larger plaques containing the quotations.
These quotations serve as an artistic focal point and area of interest to all passers
by. This further honors the individuals and organizations listed who have contributed
to our unique institution. Next time you are on campus, make a point to visit the
Library and see this impressive tribute.
This wall is a one-of-a-kind work of art, commissioned from
Christina Wallach of the Wallach Glass Studio in Santa Rosa, California. Ms. Wallach
has developed highly innovative techniques for bas-relief carving and has discovered a
method of creating true V-cut letter forms in glass. Fine V-cut graphics in glass give
each line of text a distinct readability and each carved element an attractive luminescence.
We would like to invite your participation in this landmark project through a
donation to your favorite library area or program. If you are interested in seeing
your name listed on this wall, please contact Gloria Rhodes at (619) 594-1169
