Goal: Improve and modernize facilities through efficient use of current space and expectation of future needs.
Task force charge: With increasing emphasis on digital delivery of information and the collaborative nature of pedagogy and learning, library buildings must be adapted to meet these new needs. Just as the SDSU campus is planning to meet projected enrollment growth, a new program for library facilities is needed. This team's work will include both internal and external feedback through surveys, as well as gathering innovative ideas for utilizing and renovating current space, particularly Love Library. The team will consider ways to entice the campus and community to visit the library and pay special attention to ways to feature our collections. The outcome of this work should establish the library more clearly as the intellectual heart of the campus. The team will complete a report with recommendations for existing space and another report will focus on justification and a program for new facilities.
