From The naturalists' miscellany: or Coloured figures of natural objects; drawn and described immediately from nature, by Frederick Polydore Nodder,
London, 1789-1813. This outstanding set of books, and four other highly illustrated and hand-colored 18th and 19th century natural history titles,
were donated by Donald and Louise Heyneman. (Mr. Heyneman's mother, Amy Jo Wormser, donated her large and very valuable collection of natural
history titles to Special Collections in 1983.)

Architecture Pop-Up Book

Notre-Dame, from Architecture Pop-Up Book, by Anton Radevsky, 2004. For 50 years, Horace Dodd has worked to build a diverse collection of books,
and the SDSU Library is the fortunate recipient of much of this collection. He has generously donated his entire collection of every edition
published of Francis Parkman's Oregon Trail; his extensive printing, paper making and book making texts; books about George Catlin; theater
playbills; and his paper engineering books numbering 235 in all.

The Mime of Mick, Nick and the Maggies

The Mime of Mick, Nick, and the Maggies: A Fragment from Work in Progress, by James Joyce. Published by Servire Press in
conjunction with New York's Gothic Book Mart, 1934, (c.1933). The artwork for this beautiful book was designed by Joyce's daughter,
Miss Lucia Joyce. The library's copy is number 579 of an edition of 1,000 and is a gift to the library from Paul Kennerson in honor of
Andreas Brown, owner of the Gotham Book Mart, upon the occasion of the conferral of the Doctor of Fine Arts degree to Brown.

Bat in Rain

This signed Bat in Rain hand-pulled etching with aquatint is by Edward Gorey and is one of several pieces of original Gorey artwork purchased
for the library by Robert and Ginger Wallace. The Wallaces and several other benefactors made it possible for the library to add to its
significant collection of Edward Gorey publications, original artwork and ephemera in Special Collections.

Surfing South West
|
Our unparalled collection of surfing literature grew dramatically due to continued donations by our long-time surf collection supporters
Joe Tabler and Allen Kukel. Old and new classics, journals and magazines, novels, ephemera and games make up this collection, which now
numbers more than 350 items. Surfing South West is by Dave Hunter and was published by Tor Mark Press, Cornwall, 1989.
