Donor Hall Exhibit 18.01 Web Photo Gallery

An exhibit, showcasing four stunning costumes from Mr. Norman Tipton's 70 piece Movie Memoriabilia collection, is now on display in the Donor Hall. The costumes are from films entitled: 102 Dalmatians (2000), Valley of the Dolls (1967), Star ! (1968), and The Crusades (1935). Mr. Tipton began collecting movie memorabilia in the late 1980s; starting with posters and later branching into props and costumes. His collection's criteria is based on star, film, and condition of each item. Mr. Tipton is a graduate of SDSU, where he earned a B.A. in Journalism and an M.A. in Sociology. Our own Special Collections has a Movie Poster Collection. Covering the years 1930 to 1981, this small collection of 31 original and facsimile movie posters was received from various sources. While there is no particular genre emphasis, the posters can be viewed on-line or in LA-4410 (M-F, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.).
