The SDSU Arpillera Workshop
5/2/02 through 6/22/02

Arpilleras are made of scrapes of fabric. They - and the women who stitched them - were products of the 1973 Chilean revolution. Women sewed the arpilleras as a means of sharing their stories and working through the confusion and horror brought about by Augusto Pinochet's regime. The project leader for the SDSU Arpillera Workshop is Cynda Fuentes. Click on any photo to begin moving through the exhibit's web photo gallery.
