Joan D. Vinge (1984)
Joan D. Vinge (b. 1948), received her B.A. from San Diego State University
in anthropology. Her book, The Snow Queen (1980), won the Hugo Award
in 1981 for Best Science Fiction Novel and was followed in later years
by Worlds End (1984) and The Summer Queen (1991) to create the
Snow Queen Cycle.
