Mission San Luis, Rey de Francia, 1798. San Luis Rey is the last mission
founded in the eighteenth century. The dedication ceremonies took place
in June 1798. It is known as the grandest and richest of missions and
is located in the most picturesque area near Oceanside, some 50 miles
distant from San Diego, [n.d.]
