Ingenta Article Delivery Service at SDSU
Features
For SDSU Faculty, Staff or Graduate Students:
- Ingenta's searchable database of over 8,000,000 articles dating back to
1988 and table of contents information for approximately 26,000 journals.
- Free delivery to your fax machine of full-text articles from many of the
journals (although some publishers don't allow document delivery from their
journals). Most articles are faxed within 24 - 48 hours. Don't have a fax?
You might look into one of the free commercial online fax services such as
eFax.com's free
trial or jConnect Free.
- The Library pays for articles costing under $50 that are not held in the
library's collection.
- The Library will pay for up to 30 articles per month.
- Option of personal credit card payment for non-subsidized articles (those
costing over $50 or available in the Library).
- If an article needed for your SDSU research isn't available via Ingenta's
Article Delivery service (and not held by the library), it can always be ordered
free of charge via Interlibrary Loan
(ILL).
For SDSU Undergraduate Students or other SDSU Library patrons:
- Ingenta's searchable database of over 8,000,000 articles and table of contents
information for approximately 26,000 journals dating back to 1988.
- Option of having articles delivered at your own expense (payment by personal
credit card).
- As always, SDSU students may order any article needed for their SDSU research
(and not held in the library's collection) free of charge via Interlibrary
Loan (ILL).
Begin Using the Service

Getting Started
SDSU Faculty, Staff or Graduate Students:
- First time Ingenta users should enter their SDSU ID number in the FIRST-TIME
Users box. You will be asked to choose a password and provide brief information
necessary to deliver articles (your fax number and email address, etc.) We
recommend that you continue to use your SDSU ID number as your Ingenta User
ID to ensure library payment for your articles.
- You will only need to enter credit card information if you decide to order
an article costing more than $50 or one that is owned by the Library. However,
unless you need Ingenta's faster delivery time, you may order any article
not held by the library free of charge via Interlibrary
Loan (ILL).
- You may edit your profile at any time by clicking the "Manage Profile"
button on the left-hand side of Ingenta search screens.
- Problems logging in? Contact Ingenta by phone
or email.
SDSU Undergraduate Students or other SDSU Library patrons:
- There's no need to register in order to search the Ingenta article database.
You only need to register with Ingenta if you intend to order articles (for
which you would need to pay with a personal credit card).
- Never provide credit card information unless you intend to pay for an article
yourself.
- If you find an article you need for your SDSU research, SDSU students may
place orders for free via Interlibrary
Loan (ILL).
